What keyboard setup do you use?
So I'm interested to know what kind of quirky setups you guys have made over the years, you know how it is when one thing bugs you and you do little changes over the years ending up with a really screwed up setup
Here's mine Skill 1: 1 Skill 2: 2 Skill 3: 3 Skill 4: 4 Skill 5:F2 Skill 6:F4 Skill 7:F3 Skill 8:F1 Kind of evolved from me wanting my panic button close on hand (F1 now) but not wanting to take up my 1-4 slots, then I needed guardian close on hand too, F2 now and dual stances required me to change it yet again to have 7 as F3 and well, F4 is just the leftover. Weapon Set 1: Left Arrow Weapon Set 2: Right Arrow Weapon Set 3: X Weapon Set 4:` Left and Right arrows are bound to my mouse wheel which can tilt left and right, and the others were the closest unused keys I tried changing the bar to be 2 lines of 4, but then my chat window couldn't fit on the screen in a non-gay spot (I run in windowed mode) so yeah, that's me so what sort of strange setups are you guys hiding? also screen shots of your UI would be cool if you've changed it from the default |

I have one of these sexy beasts
http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/44...d=180&cl=us,en which they don't sell anymore. However, I highly recommend using the numpad for your keyset, if possible. That leaves the rest of your keyboard open. Or, if you don't like that, a favorite of mine is... 1-4: useskill 1-4 qwer: useskill 5-8 tab: open all bags `: clear party commands asdf: flag heroes/henches Arrow keys: move |

I only changed R to use stance/utility skill in slot 7 and G for 6th skill. I can press 8 (res) reliably and 1-5 are easily reachable so no need to mess with them imo. Though I don't play in any serious level so it doesn't matter too much.

I just use the preset keys.
Also, I have a laptop so no numberpad to bind skills to. Which is about the only thing I would have changed, since I use WASD for movement. |

- qwes for movement + click to move
- 123456ad for skills - xcvb for weapon swapping - Tab is closest target, r is next target - Shift if cancel key, escape is suppress. Interface needs to be updated kinda. ;\ Can't be bothered to change it though. http://img9.imageshack.us/i/gw086b.jpg/ |

ESDF for movement (still hate it though)
F to drop something T for nearest ally V for nearest Enemy B for called target keyboards are the work of the devil and no one else. I would use WERD or SDFC so I don't have to click up to the number keys so I would be way faster, but then my typing skills start eroding. I wish there was a custom GW controller by Anet. I use basically the default layout except for some minor changes. I use Z and X for strafe left & right - Q and E are what Z & X were. (Hold over from FPS days.)
Also, V is "priority target" and T is "clear target". I steer with the mouse. I alternate between W and holding down the left & right mouse buttons, to move forward, depending upon the build/situation. Mouse4 (the rear thumb button on my MX518) is "target nearest" (same as C) Last edited by Quaker; Aug 03, 2009 at 09:04 PM // 21:04.. |

Monks find that helpful in pvp. You know, in case the warrior calls blind on 2, they know to press one key to target the second party member and the skill key for condition removal. It's a lot quicker than clicking the mouse a few times. |
